Our Story
We didn't set out to start a pet brand. We started because of a dog named Bobby and a nail trim that went wrong.
Like a lot of dog owners, we loved our dog completely, and for a while that love came with a flinch every time we reached for his paw. One clipper, one wrong squeeze, and he bled. He yelped. For months after, he wouldn't let anyone near his feet without shaking. We tried three different grinders after that. One got so hot it scared him worse than the clippers had. One was too weak to get through his back nails. One had an LED that did absolutely nothing on his black nails, no matter what the box promised.
So we asked a simple question: why does keeping a dog's nails short have to mean breaking his trust in you first?
It shouldn't. And that's exactly why we built Petkose.
We're a small team of dog owners based in Europe, and we built this for the everyday person doing their best with a dog who's already learned to be afraid someone who isn't careless, isn't a bad owner, just hasn't found a tool built around the actual moment things go wrong. Our customers are people like Anne. Like us. People who've sat on the bathroom floor holding a shaking paw, wondering if this is just something they're bad at.
Here's what we learned: dogs don't resist because they're stubborn. They resist because every conventional method asks for one long, irreversible commitment before anyone can check if it went wrong. One clip. One continuous grind. One guess on a black nail. The dog has no way to know if this pass is the one that hurts so of course they brace.
Petkose was built differently. Short, checkable passes instead of one long grind look, decide, continue, so your dog learns there's always a stopping point. Five adjustable speeds so you're never using more power than the nail actually needs. A built-in light so you can see what you're grinding instead of guessing in the dark. Quiet enough that it doesn't add to the fear it's supposed to be removing.
We believe a nail trim shouldn't cost you your dog's trust. Not once, and not slowly, trim by trim.
Every Petkose grinder is built with that belief at its core gentle enough for the dog, honest enough that we'll never tell you it fixes everything on the first try. Because you shouldn't have to choose between short nails and a dog who still runs to greet you afterward.
Welcome to Petkose. We're glad Bruno led you here.
